As a recognition of its high product quality, Nature's Blessings Organic Virgin Coconut Oil was chosen as “best organic virgin coconut oil” and “outstanding organic virgin coconut oil brand” for the year 2005 by two consumer-oriented groups last September.
The National Council for Product and Service Quality and Consumer Today magazine awarded Nature's Blessings the National Product Quality Excellence Award and the Seal of Product Quality last September 21 in recognition ceremonies held at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel In Makati City.
On September 29, on the occasion of its 23rd Annual National Consumers Quality and People's Choice Awards, the Consumer Quality Awards Committee of the National Consumer Affairs Foundation also cited Nature's Blessings for its significant product of corporate quality features and services based on consumer opinion surveys and evaluation. The ceremonies were held at the AFP Theater, Camp Emilio Aguinaldo in Quezon City.
“The citations from the two prestigious consumer-oriented award-giving bodies is another testimonial to the high standards of product quality being followed by our company,” said Julie Figueroa, Nature's Blessings president.
Figueroa explained that the company's decision to apply for and receive organic certification from recognized evaluators of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) was finally bearing fruit. “Even if we knew that undergoing USDA organic certification would entail additional costs and conforming with very stringent standards which even American companies sometimes find hard to follow, we still went through the process,” added Figueroa.
Nature's Blessings currently has two certifications. The first is Certificate awarded to Figueroa Farms for having organically grown coconuts. The other is Certificate awarded to Nature's Blessings for fully organic virgin coconut oil processing facilities. The certifications were by the Global Organic Alliance, a duly recognized certifying agency of the US Department of Agriculture.
“For local companies to be able to penetrate the international market, particularly the United States, we must be able to measure up to the very strict standards of the US Food and Drug Administration (US FDA) and the US Department of Agriculture (USDA). You will have to comply with NOP standards, that what you are producing and selling is really fully organic, from the land to the trees and your production process ”said Figueroa. |
